ExperienceI really enjoy math and science and helping students excel in these areas. Preparing for college and taking the SAT is a lot of pressure. I use my abilities to alleviate students' tensions by presenting materials in a way that students are more comfortable. With each session, I try my best for the student to find it as enjoyable as possible. I'm also passionate about inspiring and helping young girls explore STEM subjects and build the confidence to explore these academically. My major was in biophysics and I minored in linguistics at Johns Hopkins University. I worked at a residential summer camp for the past four years and work with AmeriCorps, teaching preschoolers in rural Appalachia. I've also interned with Teach for America and worked with high school students in the inner city. Here I was involved in after school SAT preparation and helping teach algebra and geometry.Currently pursuing my own advanced education, I will be attending Tufts University where I've been accepted into the Master of Biomedical Science program for Fall 2015. I plan to go to medical school the following year. When not tutoring, teaching, and studying, I enjoy playing tennis, listening to music, and spending time outdoors.
